SILL Enterprises: Gilles Falc’hun, French Entrepreneur of the Year 2015!
On Tuesday, October 13th at the Opera Garnier in Paris, the National Entrepreneur of the Year award was presented to Gilles Falc’hun, CEO of SILL Entreprises. A few months before in September 2015 he had also won the award for the West of France.
This top award, organized by Ernst & Young and L’Express magazine, spotlights business men and women with exceptional backgrounds and outstanding personalities who send out an optimistic message and actively contribute to boosting employment.
The little Plouvien dairy started in 1962 by two butter sellers from the Léon region has really grown up! SILL Entreprises is now a leading international food processing company (for dairy products, juice, ready meals, soups…) whose brands such as Le Gall, Malo, Le Petit Basque (acquired in 2014), La Potagère, Plein Fruit etc. have won over the world.
On winning his award Gilles Falc’hun commented: “I am proud to share the honour of this memorable occasion with the employees, the farmers, the customers and everyone involved in my company”. For the CEO of SILL Entreprises, the award is also “a vote of confidence and a positive message for the Breton food processing industry.”
Far from resting on our laurels, SILL Entreprises continues to move onwards and upwards. We are investing 60 million euros in a new milk drying plant for infant formula, based in the local town of Guipavas in Finistère, Brittany.
M. Falc’hun is representing France in the World Entrepreneur of the Year contest in June 2016 in Monaco.
As President of Bretagne Commerce International, closely attached to his home country of the Abers and to Brittany itself, Gilles Falc’hun has shown how much he is committed to community life and to the economic development of the whole region.
