Our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility
SILL Entreprises, based in the heart of a region well known for agriculture, oyster-farming and food processing, is a major contributor to local economic diversity and development. We are also very aware of our impact on the environment and recognize the importance of promoting sustainable development, an essential issue for the 21st century, across all our companies.
However, we have chosen to do much more than simply contribute to the local economy. The very roots of our company are here and we are committed to investing in the local community and in the daily lives of our employees through a number of practical measures:
- Taking on young apprentices
- Supporting local associations and being involved in community life
- Investing in the workforce and running employees’ groups
- Investing in local projects to regenerate areas of local towns and countryside
- Giving priority to Breton companies with equivalent skills and prices
- Sourcing ingredients locally
- And many more…
In terms of protecting the environment, we are always one step ahead. We have reduced our carbon footprint by 10,000 tons thanks to our biomass boiler at our site in Plouvien (fuelled by locally sourced wood).
Every day we strive to reduce our impact on the environment (by improving energy efficiency, using only essential packaging, ensuring our products are transported as efficiently as possible, etc…). We were awarded the ISO 50001 certification (Energy Management System) and we aim to cut our energy consumption by 10% and keep track of how we use energy.
Ecology is high on our agenda and we like to think that we set an example as protectors of the environment, a responsibility that we take seriously on a daily basis (through managing waste effectively, recycling, saving water, designing eco-friendly products …).
